Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Lava Stairs (“we”, “the app”) handles information when you use the mobile app.
TL;DR
- You can play the entire game without an account. Signing in is optional.
- Your scores, coins and settings are stored locally on your device.
- If you choose Sign in with Apple to appear on the global leaderboard, we store an account on our server: an Apple-provided identifier, your email if Apple shares it, a display name, and your submitted best score.
- You can permanently delete that account and everything in it from inside the app at any time — Account → DELETE ACCOUNT.
- We show ads through Google AdMob, which uses device identifiers to personalize ads. You can opt out via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- If you buy the “Remove Ads” in-app purchase, RevenueCat processes the purchase receipt for us. Apple processes the actual payment.
- We don’t sell your data.

- RevenueCat — in-app purchase verification. Privacy policy
- Apple — App Store purchases, Sign in with Apple, crash reporting. Privacy policy
Your Choices
- Opt out of ad personalization: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → toggle off “Lava Stairs”, or deny the tracking prompt when first shown.
- Remove ads entirely: Purchase the “Remove Ads” upgrade from the in-app Settings screen.
- Play without an account: Sign-in is entirely optional. Skip it and nothing about you is stored on our server.
- Delete your account and server data: In the app, open Account → DELETE ACCOUNT and confirm. This immediately and permanently erases your account, display name, session and leaderboard score from our server. It cannot be undone.
- Sign out: Account → SIGN OUT ends the session on this device but keeps your leaderboard entry.
- Clear local data: Delete the app from your device. All locally stored scores and preferences are removed.
Children
The app is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from users under 13. We do not target children with ads. The game is fully playable without signing in; if an account is created, it can be deleted at any time from the Account screen.
Data Retention
- Local device data: persists on your device until you delete the app.
- Account and leaderboard data: retained until you delete your account, which removes it immediately.
- AdMob ad data: per Google’s retention policy.
- RevenueCat purchase data: retained per RevenueCat’s policy and required by Apple to support purchase restoration.
